Tender launched for USD177.9 million Highway PPP project in Paraguay

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications has issued a tender seeking a private developer to deliver National Route PY12, Nanawa-General Bruguez Crossing Section in Paraguay.

The project involves the construction, restoration and maintenance of National Route 12 ( PY12) which joins the districts of Nanawa and General Bruguez. The main stretch of the highway will have 142 km, plus 12.22 km of access to communities and 2 km of urban roads, thus totaling 156.2 km.

The scope of the project also includes three bridges one of 100 m located over the Confuso River at 4.2 km, the second of 120 m over the Negro River and the third footbridge of 120 m that will cross the north arm of the Pilcomayo River at 148.7 km.

The estimated investment of the contract is PYG1.26 trillion (US$177.92 million) which will be financed with a loan of US$215 million from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
