UBS backs DWS acquisition of Medipass

UBS asset management has provided EUR 55 million (US$ 67.02 million) investment to DWS Alternatives Global for the acquisition of Medipass. The subsidiary company Inframedica has entered into an agreement with KOS to purchase Medipass, a provider of radiotherapy and medical diagnostic imaging equipment and services.

The transaction equity amounts to EUR 169.2 million (US$ 206.17 million). UBS is investing in a five-year bond to finance the acquisition. The EUR 55 million (US$ 67.02 million) bond comprises two tranches with the first being the EUR 55 million (US$ 45.69 million) of acquisition financing which was drawn down to complete the transaction. A second tranche consists of EUR 17.5 million (US$ 21.32 million) of commitments, which will be drawn down over the next two years to fund new investments and Medipass’ growth.
