Umm Al Hayman Wastewater project is set to reach financial close by year end

A consortium of WTE Wassertechnik GmbH and KCC Engineering Contracting Co (KCCEC) are set to reach financial close for Umm Al Hayman Wastewater PPP Project in Kuwait by the end of the year.

The sewage water project has been signed in November 2018 for 27.5 years by the consortium and Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP). The PPP Agreement includes:

  • Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Agreement, whereby the investor will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, rehabilitation, commissioning of the wastewater plant in 2.5 years, followed by a 25-year period of operations and maintenance.
  • A 5.5 year Design-Build-Operate (DBO) Agreement for the associated wastewater transmission and sewage effluent networks, followed by a 3-year period of operations and maintenance.
