USD242 million contract awarded for Road Corridor PPP project in USA

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has awarded Balfour Beatty a US$242 million contract to modernize U.S. Route 70/Future I-42 public-private partnership (PPP) project in Craven County, the USA. 

The project involves the modernization of Interstate U.S. 70 between the Havelock Bypass and east of Thurman Road in Craven County, North Carolina, USA, to interstate standards. The project will upgrade a 100 km stretch of US Interstate 70. The improvements relate to mobility and military connectivity, support economic development and improve security along the corridor. Balfour Beatty will lead the design and construction of structures and roads.

The collaboration between NCDOT and Balfour Beatty on the project will last for over 20 years. Construction will begin at the end of 2023 and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2028.
