Vietnam launches two railway projects in Dong Nai province

People's Committee of Dong Nai province is planning to launch two railway projects to increase the connectivity of Long Thanh airport with Ho Chi Minh City and Cai Mep - Thi Vai international seaport system. These projects will provide additional connections to the Long Thanh airport supporting the existing road traffic system. 

Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway will have an estimated investment of VND50,800 billion (US$2.20 billion) and involves a 65 km long rail line starting from Trang Bom station and ending at Cai Mep - Thi Vai international seaport. Thu Thiem light rail project will have an estimated investment value of VND40,500 billion (US$1.76 billion), it involves the development of a 37 km long light rail line connecting Thu Thiem station to Long Thanh airport.

Once the central government approves the plans for railway lines, the authority will prepare a pre-feasibility study report, coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and localities to implement the project.
