Bangladesh Railway (BR) has launched a request for qualification (RFQ) to develop a 5 Star Hotel project at Zakhir Hossain Road, Chittagong, through the PPP model.

The new facilities will be developed on a 4.14 acre unused land parcel in Chittagong. The preferred bidder will be responsible for the design, build, financing, operations & maintenance (DBFOM) of the hotel and commercial cum retail development for a fixed tenure.

The selection of the preferred bidder will be based on a two-stage international competitive bidding (ICB) process.

• Stage 1: a notice for pre-qualification, which is an invitation for applications as per the RFQ document.

• Stage 2: applicants pre-qualified and shortlisted at the RFQ stage shall further be requested to submit detailed proposals at the request for proposal (RFP) stage.

Interested parties must submit their qualification documents on or before 28 October 2015.

In October 2014 Feedback Infra was appointed for providing the transaction advisory services for development of the project. Feedback Infra has assisted BR in undertaking detailed feasibility study, development of a suitable PPP structure and carry out bid process management for selection of the private partner.
