Mumtalakat Holding Company is the sovereign wealth fund of the federal government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.[1] It was established in 2005, Mumtalakat has actively sought investment opportunities locally, regionally and internationally in order to enrich the private sectorÂ’s role in future economic growth in the Kingdom. As of 2018, Mumtalakat holds stakes in 60 enterprises in 13 countries with US$11 billion worth of assets. Mumtalakat invests in private equity, bonds, stocks, and equities. Its prime investment focus is in non-oil and gas related assets. In addition, its investments vary in financial services, aluminum production, real estate, tourism, transportation, and food production.
