Tata Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate company. It encompasses seven business sectors: communications and information technology, engineering, materials, services, energy, consumer products and chemicals. Tata Group was founded in 1868 by Jamsetji Tata as a trading company. Tata Group has over 100 operating companies with each of them operating independently. The major Tata companies are Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Global Beverages, Tata Teleservices, Titan Industries, Tata Communications, Taj Hotels Tata Projects and Tata Realty and Infrastructure (TRIL). TRIL is currently focused on the development of real estate, internal group assets, available market opportunities, urban infrastructure, airports, special economic zones, bridges, logistics parks, and ports, as well as large-scale integrated developments, and retail and commercial projects in the real estate sector.
