Axium Infrastructure appoints Head of US subsidiary and changes name

Axium Infrastructure, formerly Fiera Axium Infrastructure Inc., has appointed Mr. Thierry Vandal as President of its US subsidiary, Axium Infrastructure US Inc.

Mr. Vandal was, until May 2015, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro-Québec, one of North America's largest power companies. He joined Hydro-Québec in 1996 and served in various capacities until his appointment as President and CEO in 2005. He was previously active in the natural gas infrastructure sector, the petrochemical and the downstream oil industries.

Mr. Vandal is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Royal Bank of Canada, Veresen Inc., HEC Montréal and McGill University, where he also serves as Chair of the Finance Committee.

Axium Infrastructure has also announced a change in its name, along with a change in the names of its investment funds, made notably to comply with the Volcker Rule section of the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act. The firm's investment funds will use the name of AxInfra in the United States and Axium Infrastructure in Canada.

The Axium Infrastructure team has 40 members across 4 offices located in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and New York. The firm manages dedicated infrastructure funds having in excess of C$1.4 billion (US$1.1 billion) in assets under management.
