Brazil awards 3 airport concessions

Today, the government of Brazil has awarded three concessions for three  airports that account for 30 % of the air traffic in the country after an auction celebrated at BOVESPA, Sao Paulo's stock market.
Let me go directly to the results:
Aeroporto Internacional de Guarulhos. São Paulo
- Highest bid: Invepar, ACSA, OAS, and three pension funds; Funcef (Caixa), Previ (BB) and Petros (Petrobras) with R$ 16.213 billion (US$9.4 billion). This is 373.5 % more than the minimum established by the fovernment (R$ 3.4 billion)
- Other bidders:
- Concession period: 20 years
Aeroporto de Viracopos (SP)
- Highest bid: Triunfo Participações e Investimentos, UTC Participações and Egis Airport Operation with R$ 3.821 bilhões (US$2.23 billion). This is 159,7% more than the minimum established by the fovernment (R$ 1.5 billions).
- Other bidders:
  • Novas Rotas, 
  • Oba, 
  • Invepar, ACSA and OAS
- Concession period: 30 years
Aeroporto de Brasília (DF)
- Highest bidder: Inframérica Aeroportos with R$ 4.501 bilhões (US$2.16 billion). This is 663,39%  more than the minimum established by the fovernment (R$ 582 millions)
- Other bidders:
  • Aeroportos do Brasil,
  • ADC e Has-Fidens-Millstream,
  • Aeronaútico Operador,
  • Inframérica Aeroportos,
  • Novas Rotas,
  • Aeroportos Brasil,
  • Oba e
  • Invepar, ACSA and OAS.
- Concession period: 25 years.
It is important to remember that the Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) is going to finance up to 80 % of the total investment.
