Hastings Funds Management's Peter Taylor resigns

Hastings Funds Management senior executive Peter Taylor is leaving the firm to join a global infrastructure manager.

Taylor, who started at Hastings in 2000, oversaw Hastings and partners' purchase of NSW electricity transmission company TransGrid for US$10.28 billion last November and the sale of Hastings' 25% stake in Freeport LNG in the United States in 2014.

The departure comes only three months after Taylor was promoted to oversee the firm's Global Investment and Global Asset Management teams.

Potential buyers are currently in due diligence to acquire Hastings from owner Westpac Banking Corporation.

Taylor has overseen Hastings' global investment team and been heavily involved in recent auctions including Port Botany, Queensland Motorways, the Sydney Desalination Plant, Port of Newcastle and TransGrid.
