Kenya tenders car park PPP

The Kenyan County Secretary & Head of Public Service has issued a tender process to develop a mixed used integrated commercial and Multilevel Parking Infrastructures through PPP at Sunken Car Park, in Nairobi, Kenya.

The scope of work for the concessionaire broadly includes the planning, design, finance, build, operation, maintenance and management of the project as well as enjoying its commercial benefits for a concessional period to be proposed by the applicant.

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 3 October 2014. Interested parties may obtain further information from the office of the Head of Supply Chain Management.

Interested eligible candidates may obtain further information from the office of the Head of Supply Chain Management, 1st Floor, Room 105, City Hall Annex, and inspect the tender documents during working hours (8.00am to 5.00pm).

Request for Proposal (RFP) document consisting of detailed scope of work, eligibility criteria, and other details may be purchased from the office of the Head of Supply Chain Management, 1st Floor, Room 105, City Hall Annex, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000. The RFP document can also be downloaded from the website of NCC -www.nairobi.go.ke, free of charge.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on 14th August, 2014 at 10.00am at Supply Chain Management Services Boardroom, 1st Floor, City Hall Annex, Nairobi City County.

In early February, Kenyatta University (KU), located about 23 km from the city of Nairobi, issued a tender process for  procuring and financing the development of accommodation for its students through a PPP project.

The project involves the provision of housing to a minimum of 10,000 students, as per the following percentages:

  • Undergraduate sharing Hostels to accommodate 93.5%
  • Postgraduate sharing Hostels to accommodate 5%
  • Postgraduate bedsitters/studios Hostels to accommodate 1.5%

The successful bidder will enter into a PPP agreement on a built, operate and transfer (BOT) basis with KU for the project.
