KKR Closes US$19.2 billion Infrastructure Fund for North America and Europe

Global investment firm KKR has announced the final close of KKR Global Infrastructure Investors V, a US$19.2 billion Core+ infrastructure fund targeting critical infrastructure assets and businesses, primarily across North America and Western Europe. As the fifth fund under KKR’s Global Infrastructure Strategy, Fund V represents the firm’s largest infrastructure fund raised to date. The fund also brings KKR’s capital raised across its latest global infrastructure vehicle vintages to approximately US$45 billion.

Established in 2008, KKR’s infrastructure business has developed into a leading global platform, with approximately US$120 billion in infrastructure equity under management, compared with US$13 billion in 2019. To date, the business has completed more than 100 infrastructure investments and has a dedicated global team of around 160 infrastructure professionals, including investment specialists and value-creation experts.

Fund V will leverage KKR’s extensive experience across infrastructure sectors and market conditions, targeting diversified opportunities that provide essential services, have strong barriers to entry and offer the potential for stable, long-term cash flows. The fund has already committed more than $9 billion to investments including Altitude III, EDF Power Solutions North America, Enilive, FiberCop, Global Technical Realty, Gulf Data Hub, Metronet, Sempra Infrastructure and The Parking Spot. Overall, KKR has committed more than $70 billion in equity to infrastructure investments across North America and Europe through its global infrastructure strategy.

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP represented KKR as primary fund counsel for this fundraise.
