Infrastructure Ontario has completed the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage and shortlisted four teams for the new patient care tower project at North York General (NYG) Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
The new tower will include patient care spaces and underground parking connecting to NYG’s existing building to enable the flow of patients, staff, and materials, ensuring a high level of integration between new and existing spaces. Following a fair, open and transparent Request For Qualifications (RFQ) process, four teams were shortlisted and invited to respond to the RFP in August 2025. The following teams submitted their proposals by the deadline: Building Beyond Alliance, EllisDon + Parkin, North York Healthcare Alliance and PCL Constructors Inc.
The project is being carried out under Infrastructure Ontario’s (IO) Alliance delivery model. Technical and commercial proposals have been submitted, and collaborative as well as behavioural assessments are scheduled to take place in spring 2026. The alliance partner is anticipated to be announced in summer 2026. During the Alliance Development Phase, partners will collaborate to refine the project design and address potential risks. Implementation of the project is expected to commence once the Development Phase is completed.
