RFP issued for Independent Water Plant project in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the prequalified bidders for the development of the Jubail 4 and 6 Independent Water Plant project in Saudi Arabia.

Companies from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Spain, France, and Japan have been prequalified for the 600,000 m3/day desalination project. The prequalified bidders are:

  1. Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA)
  2. Acciona Agua
  3. ACWA Power
  4. Ajlan & Bros and Rawafid Industrial Company
  5. Al Jomaih Energy & Water Co. and Sogex Oman Co
  6. GS Inima
  7. International Power (Engie)
  8. Marubeni Corporation
  9. Saudi Arabia’s Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (Marafiq)

The Jubail 4&6 Independent Water Plant (IWP) is a major desalination project currently under development in Saudi Arabia. The plant will utilize Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination technology, a widely used and energy-efficient method for converting seawater into freshwater.
