Solar Ventures seeks EIB support for PV fund

Italian photovoltaic energy power producer Solar Ventures is seeking support from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for its Solar Ventures Fund.

The fund will target investments in medium-sized, primarily ready-to-build solar photovoltaic (PV) projects with a geographic focus mainly in non-OECD countries. The fund expects to make equity commitments in 15-20 projects with an average capacity of 25 to 30 MWp.

According to EIB's website, Solar Ventures is seeking an equity investment of €25 million from the EIB. The fund is targeting fundraising for a value of €150 million.

Solar Ventures is an independent PV energy power producer that builds and manages large scale solar plants in Italy and in the Mediterranean Area.

Solar Ventures' team has built 43 MWp grid connected pv plants in Italy, mostly in Piedmont, Apulia, Sardinia and Tuscany, proving to be a leading Italian company, thanks to the creation of one of the largest PV plant portfolio to date.

Its solid experience has proven Solar Ventures to be one of the most dynamic Italian companies, with a global pipeline of 150 MWp, developed since 2007.
