Tender launched for Polish waste PPP

The city of Ruda Slaska, Poland, has launched a tender process for the development of the city's waste plant through a PPP project.

The preferred bidder will be responsible for the construction, finance and operation of the new facilities during the contract period, which is expected to be established between 15 and 25 years.

The project will include, among others, the following facilities:

  • a plant for processing municipal waste
  • a composting plant
  • 2 points for selective collection of municipal waste

Ruda ÅšlÄ…ska is a city in Silesia in southern Poland, near Katowice. It is one of the cities in theKatowice urban area (population 2.7 million) and within the greater Silesian metropolitan area (population 5,294,000). The population of the city is about 150,000.

Interested parties must submit their request to participate on or before 14 August 2015.

Last month we reported that the preferred bidder to develop the Olsztyn Waste-to-Energy project, in north-east Poland, is expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2016.
