Uberaba starts public consultation for schools PPP

The Municipality of Uberaba, located in the state of Minas Gerais (Brazil), has lunched a public consultation for the upgrade of the municipal school system through a PPP model.

In May 2014 a request for expressions of interest was launched to carry out feasibility studies for the project.  Finally, Companhia Paulista de Desenvolvimento - CPD, a firm focused on the development of studies necessary for the viability of concessions, developed the solicited feasibility studies.

The project includes a total of 99 school, of them, 76 are already developed, 8 are under development and 16 will be constructed by the preferred bidder. The project investment for the first five years is estimated at R$70 million (US$17.9 million). The concession will include a maintenance period of 30 years.

Interested parties may submit suggestions, criticisms and comments on or before 15 November. The public hearing will take place on 6 November.
