Argentina to retender Route 3 & 205 concession in Buenos Aires

The Ministry of Public Works in Argentina has announced plans to launch tendering process for the improvement works on national routes 3 and 205. Earlier the authority has terminated the procurement process on Public-Private Participation (PPP) scheme. The tender process for the project is scheduled to be launched in next four weeks.

The project involves four different development and rehabilitation works on both highways. The scope of works included in the concession is as follows :

  • Construction of San Miguel del Monte bypass located between kilometers 104.78 and 113.48 of National Route 3;
  • Road widening between km 113.78 and km 141.00 of National Route 3;
  • Construction of a new 9 km long track with two lanes on National highway 205;
  • Reconstruction of the descending road between the Pérgola Bridge and the Cañuelas roundabout on National Route 205.

The estimated investment value for the project is ARS19.46 billion (US$196.92 million). The concession aims to improve safety, ease traffic movement, and boost tourism as well as economy in the region.
