Bangladesh and South Korea discuss nine PPP projects

Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) of Bangladesh and Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation (KIND) have announced nine PPP concessions during the 4th Bangladesh-Korea joint PPP platform meeting. The meeting was held on March 03, 2022, in Seoul.

The nine projects were prepared by both governments. Bangladesh's project proposal involves the development of a high-rise apartment complex for high, middle and low-income groups at Purbachal Development Area, a multi-purpose water terminal, a multi-purpose terminal in Mongla Port, and the Development of Terminal Court Payra Port. PPP projects proposed by South Korea include BSMSN Development- Water Demand and Solution, Metropolitan Chattogram Metro Line- Private investor; Dong Myeong, Solar PPP Project- DOWHA Engineering and 71 Gulshan Avenue and the Development of Banani Community Center.

Apart from these nine projects, the US$700 million Purbachal New Town Electrical Distribution Line project was also discussed. The feasibility study for the transmission line project will be carried out by KIND and GS E&C.
