Bangladesh signs contract for expressway PPP in Eastern Dhaka

The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) in Bangladesh has signed a public-private partnership (PPP) concession for the redevelopment of a road in the Eastern sector of Dhaka.

The project will transform the existing high-traffic road into a four-lane expressway. The concession is signed with a consortium of China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC) and China Road Bridge Corporation (CRBC).

The road project has an investment of US$385 million and a 25-year concession period. The consortium will invest US$245 million in the project while the government of Bangladesh will provide US$140 million.
