Bids submitted for San Cristóbal cable car project in Bogotá

Colombia’s urban development institute (IDU) has announced that it has received 2 bids for the San Cristóbal cable car project in Bogotá, Colombia.

The 1st Temporary Union Cable San CristóbaL is made up of Doppelmayr Colombia (59.9%), Cyg Ingenieria y Construcciones (24.06%), Proyectos de Ingenieria SA- Proing SA (8.02%) and Alca Ingenieria SAS (8.02%).

The 2nd Unión Temporal Cable Bogotá San CristóbaL, which submitted an offer, is made up of Termotecnia Coindustrial SAS (36%), Poma SAS Colombia branch (54%), and Codesa (10%).

The project involves the construction of a 2.8 km cable car with 144 cabins and 3 stations in each direction in Bogotá, Colombia.

The project San Cristóbal is one of 7 cable cars included in the 2022-35 land management plan and is expected to take 30 months to complete. With an expected travel duration of 10 minutes, the cable car can carry up to 4,000 passengers each hour.
