Brazil launches public consultation for USD240.78 million Park development PPP project

The municipality of Sao Paulo in Brazil has launched a public consultation notice for its Dom Pedro Park II revitalization concession. The concession aims to improve green spaces, drainage systems and connectivity in the neighborhood.

The private partner will be responsible for the modernization of Parque Dom Pedro II Bus Terminal with shops and restaurants; expansion of green area along the Bus Terminal; restoration of 2nd Guards Battalion barracks; development of 100,000 m² of new green areas with new equipment, street furniture, lighting and public activities; development of three new squares; modernization of the Fernando Costa and Ragueb Chohfi squares; development of Ponte do Carmo, a new crossing area between East Zone and the Pedro II Metro station; development of new platforms at Parque Dom Pedro II Terminal; and development of approximately 2 kilometers of bike lanes, cycle lanes, bike racks, and exclusive bus lanes.

The estimated investment value for the project is BRL1.29 billion (US$240.78 million); out of which the authority will provide BRL678.92 million (US$124.63). The selected private partner will receive monthly consideration of a maximum of BRL7.54 million (US$1.38 million) from the city of Sao Paulo. The public consultation notice can be accessed here.
