The Cebu City Government has signed a joint venture agreement (JVA) with New Sky Energy Inc. (NSEI) for a waste-to-energy (WTE) facility in Cebu City, Philippines.

The PHP4.8 billion (US$81.34 million) WTE project will be built over an area of six ha and has the capacity to provide electricity for 40,000 households and give the city P24 million (US$0.41 million) per year in gross power sales revenues.

NSEI will be responsible for the construction and operation of the facility for 40 years before handing it over to the city.
