Chile receives five bids for Red Bíobío hospital network concession

Dirección General de Concesiones in Chile has received five bids for the construction of four hospitals in the Red BioBio region. The concession involves the design, construction, equipment supply, and operation of hospitals located in Santa Bárbara, Nacimiento, Coronel, and Lota. Once operational, the network will have a capacity of 569 beds and serve approximately 414 thousand people in the BioBio region. The estimated investment value of concession is CLF 7.75 million (US$ 320 million).

The five bids were received from :

  • Obrascón Huarte Lain (OHL) SA
  • Constructora y Edificadora GIA + A SA de CV
  • Consorcio Sacyr
  • Acciona Concesiones Hospitalarias
  • Constructora San José SA

The selected private partner will operate the hospital complexes for 15 years. The tendering process is scheduled to be finished by the third quarter of 2021. The construction works for the concession are expected to start in 2023 and finished by 2025.
