Colombia to review major infrastructure projects in Valle del Cauca

The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has launched plans with the objective of reviewing the progress of the Mulaló - Loboguerrero fourth-generation road project and the financial and technical structuring of the private project Airports of the Southwest Airports and initiating concrete actions to unlock the projects of infrastructure work pending with the region of Valle del Cauca. The authority will carry out a weekly monitoring table in which also from the hand of the parliamentarians of the region solutions will be sought to fulfill the commitments of the National Government.

The investments projected aim to double the current capacity of the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón airport, the modernization, and the expansion of the Buenaventura airport and the Neiva air terminal. Priority projects in the Valle del Cauca include access to Cali and Palmira, as well as the Buga - Loboguerrero and Loboguerrero - Buenaventura corridors, of which access to Cali and Palmira are pending before the Ministry of Finance. Regarding the dredging of the Buenaventura access channel, the officials clarified that the project will be technically ready this year and how many additional resources would be needed in a public policy discussion.
