The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) and the company Viettel Perú SAC have signed the sole concession contracts for the Spectrum Bands projects Radioelectric AWS-3 and 2.3 GHz in Peru.

These two crucial initiatives aim to enhance and expand 4G mobile services (both telephony and internet) across more than 3,800 rural areas throughout the country. Specifically, 2,640 locations will benefit from the AWS-3 Band, and 1,185 locations will be covered by the 2.3 GHz Band. Consequently, a total of 3,825 rural towns will enjoy improved connectivity and enhanced quality of life for their residents through 4G mobile services. By implementing the AWS-3 and 2.3 GHz Radio Spectrum Band projects, numerous rural areas that currently lack mobile services or are limited to 2G or 3G technologies will gain access to 4G mobile services. This expansion will enable them to enhance their communication capabilities and avail themselves of distance education and telehealth services.
