Construction completed for 118-km pier work for MAHSR project in India

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has announced that the pier work for the stretch of 118 km and the girders for the 15.7 km for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project has been completed.

The number of piles raised is 28,293 and in November the highest casting was 14.36 km. In Gujarat and Maharashtra, land acquisition was over 98%, with Gujarat 98.87% land acquisition completed and Maharashtra 98.22%. In Dadar and Nagar Haveli, land acquisition was finally completed. Construction progress on the 500+ km section from Ahmedabad to Mumbai was 24.10%, with progress in Gujarat at 29.78% and Maharashtra at 13.26%. The multimodal hub in Sabarmati will be ready by January or February 2023.

NHSRCL took over the Bandra Kurla station, a part of the project for the first undersea tunnel between the station at Bandra-Kurla Complex and Shilphata in Maharashtra. The 7-km section of the Thane Creek Underwater Single Pipe Tunnel will be the first undersea tunnel in the country and the project will construct 39 control rooms at 37 locations adjacent to the tunnel.
