Construction of collector starts for PY09 Transchaco route PPP project

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications in Paraguay has announced the start of works on Lot 5 of the PY09 Transchaco route public-private partnership (PPP) project. 

The works involves the construction of a collector from km 385.7 to km 390 with a total length of 3.37 km. The 8-m wide asphalt road surface in both directions will connect to 3 existing roundabouts in the urban area of Teniente Irala Fernandez, President Hayes Department and will border the local municipality. On the PY09 route, steps and pedestrian crossings, drainage ditches and solar-powered lighting are also planned as part of the PPP project. The collector will allow faster access from Transchaco to the urban center of the city.

The PY09 Transchaco route PPP project involves redevelopment and maintenance works for the 553 km long PY09 Transchaco route located in Paraguay. The works will be conducted in 4 sections with 2 lots each totaling 8 lots: Lot 1: km 50 to km 112, Lot 2: km 112 to km 173, Lot 3: km 173 to km 250, Lot 4: km 173 to km 250, Lot 5: km 326 to km 390, Lot 6: km 390 to km 450, Lot 7: km 450 to km 525 and Lot 8: km 525 to km 603.
