Central African Republic's Ministry of Equipment and Public Works has awarded Turkey's Metag Insaat Ticaret a US$59.7 million contract to carry out road works.

The agreement constitutes the initial phase of the Multimodal Transport Corridor Development Project for the Pointe-Noire-Brazzaville-Bangui-N'Djamena route. It involves the construction and asphalt paving of the Gouga-Mbaïki road, specifically focusing on Lot 1, which encompasses the construction and asphalt paving of the Gouga-Bossarangba Road Section (Pk30). This includes the erection of a 380 m bridge spanning the Lobaye River, the development of 6.71 km of urban roads in Mongoumba with public lighting facilitated by solar panel-equipped street lamps, and the establishment/equipment of a comprehensive low-speed weighing station.

The African Development Bank is supporting the project.
