Contract awarded for road works in Central African Republic

Central African Republic's Ministry of Equipment and Public Works has awarded a Chinese joint venture of Stecol Corporation and Sinohydro Corporation a US$66.2 million contract to carry out road works.

The Gouga-Mbaïki road project involves the construction and asphalt paving of the Bossarangba Road Section (from PK30 to Mbaîki at PK 98.840) and an additional 3.19 km of urban roads within Mbaïki as part of Lot 2. The contract represents Lot 2 of the Pointe-Noire-Brazzaville-Bangui-N'Djamena Multimodal Transport Corridor Development Project. The African Development Bank (AfDB) is supporting the project. The expected duration of the contract is 28 months.
