Contract awarded for Motorway construction project in Tunis

The Tunisian Ministry of Equipment and Housing has awarded the US$229 million contract for the construction of the 99 km Sbikha - Jelma Highway.

This contract is divided into lots that include:

  • Lot 5: Sbikha-Kairouan (29 Kms), the procurement work has The Sbikha interchange and the Kairouan-El Batten interchange having 1 major and 43 hydraulic structures, contractor involved is SOROUBAT with the total value of the contract being US$67 million;
  • Lot 6: Kairouan-Haffouz (29.56 Kms), the procurement work has The Chebika interchange and 49 hydraulic works, contractor involved is Société Chaabane & Cie with a total value of the contract is US$51 million; 
  • Lot 7: Haffouz-Oued Zroud (21.44 Kms), the procurement work has The Haffouz interchange 04 major and 21 hydraulic structures, contractor involved is ETEP with a total value of the contract is US$49 million; and
  • Lot 8: Oued Zroud-Jelma (18.59 Kms), the procurement work has The Hajeb Laayoun interchange and the Jelma ramp 03 major and 16 hydraulic structures, Contractor involved is Afrique Travaux with a total value of the contract is US$59 million.
