The Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Tunisia has awarded Bez + Kock Architekten to remodel the Carthage site.

Bez + Kock Architekten received the first prize of EUR50.000 (US55.224). The company entered into cooperation with Koeber Landschaftarchitecture and Grauwald Studio. The project involves the requalification of the Acropole of Byrsa and the rehabilitation of the National Museum of Carthage in Tunisia. The total area of 5 ha of the Byrsa acropolis includes archaeological finds, open spaces (UNESCO square, esplanade, large courtyard, woodlands and small gardens) and historical buildings (the former Cathedral of St. Louis, the former seminary of the White Fathers and the room of Father Delattre). The planned architectural, landscape and museum program covers an area of 6,195 sq. m.

The project also includes the creation of a new section of the National Museum of Carthage, which will stand at the center of the historic acropolis of Byrsa and provide direct access to all major archaeological areas.
