Delivery Partner selected for a US$4.75 billion Olympic Stadium in Australia

A joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and Aecom has secured the delivery partnership for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games venues infrastructure program, valued at AU$7.1 billion (US$4.75 billion).

The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) has selected the two companies as its delivery partner through their joint venture, Unite32. Under this role, Unite32 will manage the delivery of 17 new and upgraded venues across Queensland and provide oversight of two additional sites, with the programme extending from the Gold Coast to Cairns. The Brisbane 2032 Games will be anchored by a new 63,000-seat Olympic stadium in the Victoria Park precinct, complemented by a National Aquatic Centre and an Olympic Village. The overall precinct has been masterplanned by Arup, with construction scheduled to commence in 2026. Formed two years ago, the Unite32 joint venture brings together senior leadership and expertise from the global operations of Laing O’Rourke and AECOM. The Brisbane 2032 Games will mark Australia’s third time hosting the Olympic Games, following Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000. GIICA, working alongside its joint venture partner AECOM, aims to deliver the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

AECOM brings experience from delivering over 150 stadiums and arenas worldwide and is already active across Queensland, offering strong local knowledge and supply-chain insight essential to the successful delivery of the Games infrastructure.
