Evolution Infrastructure has joined the Steer Group in the UK, strengthening Steer’s infrastructure and energy financial advisory capabilities alongside Amberside Advisors.

This move aligns it alongside Amberside Advisors, which has been part of the Steer Group since 2022 and provides financial advisory and modelling services in similar sectors. The Steer Group itself is a global consultancy focused on critical services and infrastructure, aiming to enhance its capabilities amid increasingly large and scrutinized projects.

The significance of this development lies in combining the strengths of both firms to tackle larger, more intricate assignments, particularly in the UK, where long asset lives, regulatory scrutiny, and public-sector involvement demand robust financial expertise. They have previously collaborated on major projects like the £3bn Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme (HARP), a critical water infrastructure initiative under Ofwat’s Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) model, where Evolution advised GLIL Infrastructure on investments and Amberside provided assurance services to United Utilities and Cascade Infrastructure. In the short term, the firms will operate distinctly, collaborating only on assignments benefiting from joint expertise, with Steer offering long-term stability. Looking ahead, this partnership facilitates accelerated growth, access to new markets, and enhanced flexibility for projects of expanding scale, complexity, and geographic reach, all while upholding analytical discipline and client-focused independence.
