The City of Gold Coast is launching a global Expression of Interest (EOI) to attract Australian and international consortia for a landmark 12,000+ seat sports and entertainment arena at Carey Park, Southport, aligned with the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In August 2025, a global EOI process will be launched to invite leading Australian and international consortia to participate in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of a landmark arena. The proposed venue will be located at Carey Park in Southport, centrally positioned within the Gold Coast CBD, and will be operated under a long-term agreement. The project has already generated preliminary interest from prospective investment partners across ASEAN, the USA, and the UAE, even before the formal market launch. Invest Gold Coast is set to publish the complete EOI documentation and registration information in late August 2025, with submissions anticipated to close in December 2025.
