BaltCap held the first closing of its EUR200 million (USD211 million) target BaltCap Infrastructure Fund II (BInF II).

BInF II will primarily concentrate on investing in renewable energy initiatives, such as wind farms, solar parks, and biomass and biogas plants. Additionally, the fund will continue its support for local municipalities by enhancing the energy efficiency of their buildings. This includes critical services like the establishment and renovation of schools, public buildings, and other social infrastructure. So far, the first fund has achieved significant milestones.

  • Firstly, it has played a pivotal role in making clean and affordable energy accessible by developing 200 MW of new renewable energy capacity, comprising 100 MW of biomass, 33 MW of wind, and 60 MW of solar capacity.
  • Secondly, the fund has contributed to the construction of 19,000 m2 of energy-efficient education and community facilities, providing 1740 new study places. This initiative has enabled local children to attend nearby schools, eliminating the need for long commutes.
  • Moreover, the fund has installed over 2700 modern LED lighting fixtures along more than 50 km of roads, enhancing the safety and security of residents.

BInF II's cornerstone investor is the European Investment Fund (EIF). Other contributors to the fund include EIF, Swedbank pension funds, SEB pension funds, LHV Pension funds, and pension funds managed by Citadele group.
