Five firms bid for Kanpur Metro Line 2 Construction Contract

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has announced that Five firms have submitted bids for the civil construction work of Package KNPCC-12 on 8.38 km Kanpur Metro Line-2 (Agriculture University – Barra-8) in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The competitive landscape for KNPCC-12 includes the following bidders:

  • Ceigall India Ltd. (CIL)
  • Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Ltd. (DRAIPL)
  • HG Infra Engineering Ltd. (HGIEL)
  • Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL)
  • Ranjit Buildcon Ltd. (RBL)

Package KNPCC-12, covering a distance of 4.3 km within the broader 32.38 km Kanpur Metro Phase 1 project, comprises two separate elevated sections situated on either side of the underground Package KNPCC-11. The southern section, extending over 3.745 km, will feature a viaduct connecting Double Pullia Ramp and Barra-8, hosting four elevated stations at Vijay Nagar Chauraha, Shastri Chowk, Barra-7 Station, and Barra-8. On the northern end of the line, beyond Rawatpur Interchange Station, a shorter 557.8m viaduct will be erected, accommodating one elevated station at Agriculture University, adjacent to Line-2’s Agriculture University Depot. The responsibilities encompass the design and construction of the elevated viaduct, along with five elevated stations (namely Agriculture University Station, Vijay Nagar Chauraha Station, Shastri Chowk Station, Barra-7 Station & Barra-8 Station), inclusive of architectural finishing, E&M work, and special spans from the end of the ramp after Double Pullia Station to Barra-8 Station.
