HMC Capital acquired digital infrastructure investment firm StratCap

Australian investment firm HMC Capital has acquired North American digital infrastructure investor StratCap.

The company is set to acquire the entire ownership of StratCap from private investors in a US$28.5 million transaction, encompassing a portfolio of 13 data centers and over 200 cell towers across North America. Formerly recognized as Strategic Capital, StratCap has previously obtained data centers in various US states and one facility in Ontario, Canada, in addition to consistently acquiring small numbers of cell towers across the US. Since its establishment in 2019, StratCap has completed over 200 cell towers and 13 data center investments, boasting a US$1 billion development pipeline and identifying a future pipeline of around US$5 billion. As an alternative asset manager specializing in real estate, private equity, energy transition, and digital infrastructure, HMC oversees more than AU$10 billion (US$ 6.5 billion) for institutional, high net worth, and retail investors.
