India launches RFP for power transmission PPPs in Rajasthan

Power Finance Corporation Limited in India has launched a request for proposal (RFP) seeking a private partner for phase III of the renewable energy power transmission line in Rajasthan. The RFP includes part A1 and part A3 of the project, which undertakes transmission and evacuation infrastructure for 40 GW of energy. Both parts are being procured under Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model.

Under part A1, the energy infrastructure will facilitate the evacuation of 20 GW of electricity from Rajasthan's renewable energy zone at Fatehgarh station no 4. The scope of works involves the development of 440KV direct current line as well as 2 nos. 500 MVA ICT bays, 2 nos. 400kV bays, 2 nos. 220kV bays, 2 nos. 400kV line bays, 4 nos. 220kV line bays, 2 units of bus rectors and 2 nos. reactor bays. Part A3 of the project involves the development of 4 nos. 400 kV switchable line reactors and 4 units of line bays at Fatehgarh and Bhadla stations. This infrastructure will also facilitate the evacuation of 20GW of electricity.
