Ion Exchange has announced that its key subsidiary in Oman has secured a long-term contract worth OMR73.5 million (US$190.4 million) from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) for its water and sewage facilities.
Ion Exchange conducts its operations in the Sultanate through a joint venture with Hofincons & Co, Oman, under the name Ion Exchange & Company. Hofincons is recognized for its expertise in industrial asset management services, particularly within Oman’s oil and gas sector and other heavy industries. The joint venture focuses on delivering water and wastewater treatment technologies, integrated solutions, and related services to a wide range of sectors in Oman, including steel, beverage production, and oil and gas, while also serving institutional clients and local communities.
The scope of work covers the design, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of both a potable water plant and a sewage treatment facility within the South PDO Concession Area. The agreement is structured as a long-term contract with a duration of 20 years. Through this development, the project will provide a dependable source of drinking water and effective wastewater treatment solutions, enhancing operational performance while promoting environmental sustainability and community welfare across the concession area.
