The Government of Kenya has launched a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project to develop a training complex and associated facilities for the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret.
Under a 20-year DBFMT (Design, Build, Finance, Maintain, Transfer) PPP model, the selected partner will design, fund, construct, equip, operate, and maintain academic facilities that include teaching spaces, skills labs, conference halls, ICT centers, and accommodation for approximately 800 students, while catering to around 3,000 learners overall. At the end of the concession, ownership of the complex will revert to the Hospital at no cost. The initiative builds on a market-sounding event held in December 2024 to engage potential bidders. The Expression of Interest (EOI) was published on July 1, 2025, with submissions due by July 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM EAT.
