Panama launches plans for Pacora to Yaviza highway PPP

The Ministry of Public Works in Panama has announced plans to launch East Pan-American Highway (CPE) corridor's 246.2-kilometer long Pacora - Yaviza section.

The works will be carried out in the following three sections:

  • Section 1: 46 km long highway connecting Las Garzas  to Cañita;
  • Section 2: 98.2 km long highway connecting Cañita to Agua Fría;
  • Section 3: 102 km long highway connecting Agua Fría to Yaviza. 

The selected private partner will be responsible for rehabilitation, improvement and maintenance works for the highway. The scope of work includes rehabilitation of the entire asphalt layer, construction of shoulders with asphalt concrete layer, construction of paved gutters, sealing of joints and cracks in the concrete and portland cement slab, painting, vertical and horizontal signage, bus stops, drains, weights and dimensions station, among other activities.

The project aims to benefit more than 140,000 people.
