Piedmont Regional Council approves funding for university hospital project

The legislative assembly of Piedmont, Regional Council of Piedmont, has approved the law that allows the state funding for the planned development of the new university teaching and research hospital public-private partnership (PPP) in Novara. 

Novara New Teaching and Research Hospital PPP project involves the construction of a new hospital facility integrated with university facilities in Novara, located in north-western Italy. The investment in the project amounts to EUR320 million (US$360 million) which will be slpit as follows:

  • Private investment EUR 219.6 million (USD 237 million)
  • Public Contribution EUR 100.6 million (USD 109 million)

In February 2019, the government has invited developers to implement the project under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.
