Pittsburg city council has approved the proposal from Glydways to develop a transit system using driverless electric cars throughout the East Contra Coast county. This transit network will supplement the railway and bus services in the area and provide end-to-end connectivity. Apart from Pittsburg, Brentwood, Oakley, Tri-Delta Transit, and the Contra Costa County, the Transportation Authority will also participate and support project development and execution.

The transit network's area of 28 miles will cover Bay Point BART Station and downtown Brentwood. Once complete, the network will have 56 boarding points in the county and serve up to 33,559 riders daily on weekdays and 5,196 riders on weekends. The project is expected to be fully operational by 2030.

Glydways will be responsible to develop an initial transit network from Pittsburg to Brentwood with an estimated cost of US$ 450.90 million, which will be raised from private firms. Part of the operation cost is also expected to be covered by revenues and fares. Operating space for the transit network will be created by repurposing existing roads, abandoned railway tracks, canals, and elevated pathways.
