Research Center Construction Project Awarded in Peru

The San Agustín National University (UNSA) has granted favor to the Southern Peru Copper Corporation, for the construction of the Center for Applied Research and Specialized Laboratories in Peru.

The construction work will be carried out under the Works for Taxes mechanism with an investment of PEN 40,474,083.36 (US$11 million). This investment will support the development of research activities at the university mentioned. 

The laboratory construction encompasses an administrative area, a service area, and a complementary area. Additionally, it includes the procurement of furniture such as tables, chairs, cabinets, workstations, desks, and computer modules. The construction project comprises four levels, including one basement, one semi-basement, and four floors. These levels will accommodate warehouses, parking lots, control centers, stairwells, elevators, public areas, specialized laboratories, a biotery, a nursery, and complementary research areas. Each floor has been carefully designed to support research activities and adheres to all established safety standards, including earthquake resilience measures.
