RFEOI launched seeking consultant for feasibility study in CASA region

The World Bank Group has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) seeking a technical consultant to support multiple initiatives under the new Central Asia and South Asia Transport Connectivity Platform (CASA region). 

The main objective of the technical consultant is to assist the World Bank and member countries of the CASA region in promoting dialogue and building consensus for the development of economic corridors in the regions. The services will include: Identification of multimodal transport corridors in CASA region, focusing on railways but not only; Support for effective project initiation through extensive regional dialogue; Institutional structuring to promote regional cooperation and dialogue among the CASA countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan through the CASA Platform.

Preliminary feasibility of the identified corridors which would include:

  • Demand assessment
  • Financial and economic feasibility analysis
  • Detailed risk assessment
  • Project structuring and transaction model
  • Policy and institutional recommendations for efficient multimodal transportation and
  • Operational planning
