Infrastructure Ontario (IO) has closed the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage for William Osler Health System’s (Osler) Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project.
The new hospital will increase health care capacity in the community and create more services to support a robust and accessible local health system. Following a fair, open and transparent request for qualifications process, four teams were shortlisted and invited to respond to the RFP in October 2024. The following teams submitted their proposals by the deadline: Progress Peel Health Solutions, Pomerleau Inc., EllisDon Corporation and Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. The project is being delivered through Infrastructure Ontario’s (IO) Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) contract model.
Now that the teams have submitted their proposals, IO and Osler will evaluate them. The top-ranked team will enter into a Development Phase Agreement with IO and Osler. Once the Development Phase concludes, a final contract is expected to be awarded. The development partner is expected to be announced in fall 2025 and project construction is expected to begin following the conclusion of the Development Phase.
