Infrastructure Ontario (IO) has closed a Request for Proposals (RFP) for teams to submit their bids to design, build, finance and maintain the South Niagara Hospital public-private partnership (PPP) project in Canada.

The project involves the creation of three existing facilities within Niagara Health’s connected healthcare system (NH): the Greater Niagara General Site, the Port Colborne Site, and the Douglas Memorial Site, as well as selected services from the Welland County Hospital site – into an estimated 1.25 million square foot new facility, planned on a 49.8-acre greenfield site in Niagara Falls. Three teams were shortlisted and invited to respond to an RFP in October 2021 after the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process. EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare (EDIH) and Niagara Care Partners provided proposals for the project.

IO and NH connected healthcare system will evaluate the proposal and, if approved, will announce a successful proponent in early 2023.
