The City of Mobile, located in Alabama, south-east USA, has issued has a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the redevelopment of 22 acres of land in downtown Mobile. Situated in close proximity to parks, waterfront, and Mobile’s central business district, the Civic Center site is a gateway to the downtown entertainment district and is uniquely positioned along Mobile Bay with access to the cruise terminal.

The site is an important civic space and redevelopment proposals must allow for the continuation of civic facilities and events. Proposals should include a mix of other, private uses, including entertainment, office, residential and retail. A highly desired feature of the redevelopment is the inclusion of a multi-functional sports venue.

The submission deadline is 8 November 2018. The RFQ is step one of a two-step process. Respondents whose qualifications and experience are acceptable to the City will be short listed. Those short listed proposers will be invited to participate in step two of the process which is a Request for Proposals (RFP).
